Scope
In May 2024, our dedicated team successfully completed the surfacing of the new roundabout at Wairakei in Taupō over a three-day period. The project began with our skilled chipsealing crew applying a high-quality membrane seal coat, ensuring a strong foundation for the subsequent asphalt layer.
Following this, our asphalt paving team expertly placed 430 tonnes of asphalt, meticulously planning their operations to minimise traffic disruption and deliver a seamless driving experience. To achieve the smoothest transitions, we utilised our advanced 1.3m Wirtgen mill to effectively mill any cold joints.
Our state-of-the-art Sumitomo paver, equipped with a versatile screed that easily adapts from 2.1m to 6m without the need for boxing out, facilitated efficient and flawless paving runs. The result is a durable and smooth surface that enhances both safety and comfort for all road users.
